How to use simple foods in the most natural way to fight illnesses and maintain good health

The human body has the power to heal itself. The immune system has a self-defence mechanism to block and destroy bacteria or viruses that invade our bodies, while the self-healing mechanism will get us back on the road to recovery. When you have a cold and take medicine, the medication may kill the virus but your immune system will not fully function, and its efficiency will decrease. As a result, your body will be more vulnerable to germs.

Here are the guidelines to strengthen the immune system:

1. Have at least three bowel movements a day.

Other health experts may advise one bowel movement a day, but that's not enough. You need three to four bowel movements a day in order to excrete all the accumulated faeces from your intestine. Your liver will not be overburdened and it also helps reduce cholesterol in your body.

2. Drink at least three glasses of fruit or vegetable smoothies each day.

This is a way to ingest enough phytochemicals to strengthen the body's cells and immune system. Use not only the flesh, but also the skin and seeds of fruits and vegetables to make smoothies, as they are rich in phytochemicals. Most of the fruit seeds have small amounts of cyanide which kill bacteria and viruses without damaging the body.

Actually the recommended smoothie diet is six glasses a day, two in the morning, one before lunch, two more in the afternoon, and one more before dinner.
However, if that's too much, you may start with three glasses a day. Use a high powered blender (at least three horsepower) as it can release phytochemicals from the fibre. It's best to choose sour fruits like green or red apples, grapes, pineapples, kiwi and lime.

3. Sunbathe 30 minutes daily.

We often hear that the Sun's UV rays will damage our skin, and many people apply sunblock before going out.

But do you know that the UV rays will help convert cholesterol underneath the skin into vitamin A which helps moisten the skin and prevent skin cancer, and also vitamin D that helps prevent colds, osteoporosis, and certain kinds of cancer.

Therefore, use the Sun. Expose yourself to sunlight about one-half hour a day, at noon or another appropriate time based on your local climate. The SUN will make you healthier.

4. Exercise 30 minutes a day.

Don't exercise for more than 30 minutes. If you go beyond that, your body will be overworked.

If you do it more than half an hour, that will become labour, not exercise. Your heart and your body will be working too hard.

5. Shower with hot, then cold water.

Try an alternating cold and hot water shower: Three minutes of hot water followed by 30 seconds of cold water, then repeat twice more. This process will bring a rush of blood and energy to your body. It helps increase your immune system, blood circulation, and metabolism.

6. Drink a lot of water, in the correct way.

How much water you need to drink each day depends on your specific situation. If your office is air-conditioned, drinking six glasses of water a day is enough. If your work involves lots of walking, you have to drink 8-10 glasses a day. If you work under the hot sun, then 10-12 glasses of water are required.

The way you drink is also important. The correct way is to sip it little by little, to give your body cells time to absorb the water. If you drink the whole glass down at once, your cells can't absorb it all, and the water will be excreted as urine.

7. Eat according to your blood type.

Your blood type determines what you should eat. Eating the wrong foods will make you sick.

People with blood type O have to eat a certain amount of meat. If they eat only vegetables for a long time, their body won't absorb all the substances they need to strengthen their immune system. The recommended diet for this group is 75% vegetables, 10% fruits, 10% meat, seafood and goat's milk (avoid cow's milk), and 5% grains.

People with blood type A, however should avoid milk and meat, while increasing grains and fruits.

People with blood type B should also avoid meat, while those with blood type AB should avoid chicken and beef.

8. Eat according to your biological clock.

Every human being has a biological clock that tells us when to eat, sleep, and wake up. If you don't follow your biological clock, the organs will lose their balance. Toxins and wastes won't be excreted from your body, and soon you'll get sick.

The biological clock is divided into three phases.

From 4am to noon is the time for bowel movements, so in the morning you should eat foods with lots of fibre. Fruit and vegetable smoothies are recommended.

From noon to 8pm, your body will absorb food so lunch is the most important meal. A vegetable salad with grains is recommended. Fish or boiled eggs can be added to your lunch. Avoid meat at dinner as the amino acids in the meat will disturb your sleep. Try to finish dinner by 6pm.

From 8pm to 4am, the nutrients and energy from food will be distributed throughout your body organs. The golden time for your sleep is between 10pm and 2am, as your immune and self-healing system will function at its best.

RM2.00 charge for making a 103 directory call through Maxis?

Maxis users, please take note... I got this from a forwarded email, I myself don't use Maxis and need someone who's Maxis user to clarify the following:

--------- * * * * * ---------

STOP CALLING 103 through your MAXIS number.

If you are using Maxis network and please be alert that now the new charges for making 103 (TM Directory) was increased from 30 sen to RM2.00 per call.

I just found out from my maxis statement dated 21/6/08 today and I rang up the Maxis 123 and been told the new rate started in May 2008 (which non of the Maxis users are aware of this increase) and since I'm not aware of this new adjustment, they are willing to waive it for this month only (RM2.00 per call to 103).

Shocking right?

Why Warm Drinks?

The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, you might want to take note of this. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

Once this "sludge" reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer.

It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

Iron Out Fatigue

Even though you've tested negative for anaemia, low iron stores may still be the cause of your tiredness. Researchers at Cornell University gave 41 young women who had low iron stores - but not anaemia - a placebo or iron tablets and instructions to exercise.

After 6 weeks, those with the greatest iron deficiency improved their energy level only when they took iron supplements. But supplements can cause serious problems in some people, so consult your doctor before taking any. Or increase your iron intake by eating iron-rich foods, like red meat, legumes and iron-fortified cereals.

Read the Numbers on Your Fruit

I just found this out about a month ago. I learned that sticker labels on the fruits actually tell you how the fruits have been grown? Whether they were organically grown or conventionally grown with pesticides and herbicides; Oh, and let's not forget about the genetically engineered fruits.

Conventional Fruit Labels
Four digits and does not start with 9.
** mostly starting with the digit 4.

Organic Fruit Labels
Five digits and starts with number 9.

Genetically Modified Fruits
Start with the digit 8.

So next time you go shopping, remember these critical numbers and know how to avoid purchasing inorganic and GMO fruits.

This is good to know because stores aren't obligated to tell you if a fruit has been genetically modified.

Okay, so if you come across an apple in the store and it's label is 4922, it's an conventional apple grown with herbicides and harmful fertilizers. If it has a sticker 99222, it's organic and safe to eat. If it says 89222, then RUN!!!! It has been genetically modified (GMO).

Fantastic Personal Security Idea

Gotten this from a forwarded email. Just thought that it should be shared with everyone, maybe it could save a life or from a sex abuse. Guess it would be very effective especially for those who do not have a house alarm installed.

Tips from Bukit Aman
-----------------------
Next time you come home for the night and before you put your keys away, think of this :

It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation.

Start keeping your car keys next to your bed on the night stand before you go to rest.

If you think someone is trying to get into your house, or if you hear a noise outside your house, just press the alarm button on the remote controller of your car...

Test it! It should be triggered on almost when you press in everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it.

If your car alarm is activated when someone is trying to break in your house, odds are the burglar or rapist won't stick around.....after a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that.

Try yours to make sure it works before you rely on it. Just know that you must press the alarm button again to turn it off.

And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car at the carpark in the evening or while you are alone. The alarm can work the same way.....

So put those car keys & remote controller on the night table now!

Do Not Pump Full Tank Of Petrol

Many of us are not aware that the petrol kiosk pump has a return pipe-line (in black ). When the petrol tank (in the car) reaches full level, there is a mechanism to trigger off the pump latch and at the same time a return-valve is opened (at the top of the pump station) to allow excess petrol to flow back into the sump. But the return petrol has already pass through the meter, meaning you are donating the petrol back to SHELL/ PETRONAS/ CALTEX/MOBIL. .........

Beware: Don't knock the pump nozzle after finish filling your petrol

I just received an email warning not to knock the nozzle after we have finished filling the expensive petrol. It is said that it might set up the fire. I feel the urge to share this info with all my readers as the petrol price is rising high recently, every drop of the petrol seems to be very precious. But be careful don't ever try to knock the pump nozzle, instead wait for the nozzle to drip for a while before pull out the nozzle.

Here's what the email says:
(apology as it is in Malay)

JANGAN KETUK NANTI TERBAKAR

Dinasihatkan:

Jangan ketuk , tapi biarkan nozel tu lama sedikit untuk memastikan minyak telah berhenti mengalir.

'CLEAR' Button After Using Credit / Debit Card At Pump

I just received an email warning us to press the 'CLEAR' button after every purchase of petrol / gas via credit card machine at pump kiosk.

This is the content of the email, not sure how true it is. But I guess it poses no harm in practising it. Just share this piece of information with your friends might save them from paying extra bucks for others' fuel.

Jim just told me about something that happened to one of his co-workers. She used her credit/debit card to purchase gas at the pump (like most of us do).

She received her receipt like normal. However, when she checked her statement, there were 2 additional $50 charges added in addition to her purchase. Upon investigation, she found out that was because she did not press the 'CLEAR' button at the pump after she finished her purchase, the employees inside the store was able to use her card to purchase for their own gas!

To prevent this from happening, after you get your receipt, you must press the 'CLEAR' button or your information will be stored until the next customer inserts their card.

Be sure to tell all your friends / family members so that this doesn't happen to them!

Bee and Hornet Sting Cure

I wanted to share this marvelous information in case you may be experiencing the same problem around your home/garden....

A couple of weeks ago I was unfortunate enough to get stung by both a bee and hornet while working in the garden.

My arm swelled up so I visited my family doctor. The clinic gave me some cream and an antihistamine.

The next day the swelling was getting progressively worse so I visited my family doctor again... Infected arm - needed an antibiotic.

**The interesting thing is what the Doctor told me....

"The next time you get stung put a penny on the bite for 15 minutes."

At that night itself, my niece also got stung by two bees when she came over to swim. I looked at the bite and it had already started to swell. So I went to get my wallet and taped a penny to her arm for 15 minutes. The next morning, there was no sign of a bite. We were very surprised but figured perhaps she just wasn't allergic to the sting.

Then guess what? I got stung again - by a hornet - twice - on my left hand. I was so distressed, thinking I would have to go to the doctor for yet another antibiotic.

I promptly went into the house, got my wallet, and taped two pennies to my bites, then sat and sulked for 15 minutes. The penny took the string out of the bite immediately. I still wasn't sure what was going to happen.

In the mean time the hornets were attacking my niece and she got stung on her thumb. Out came another penny. The next morning I could only see a micro spot where I had been stung... no redness, no swelling. I went to see my niece and hers was the same. I couldn't even see where she got stung!

The Doctor said that somehow the copper in the penny counteracts the bite. I would never have believed it. But it DEFINITELY WORKS!

So remember this little bit of wisdom, keep some pennies on hand at school and at home, and pass this on to your friends, children, grandchildren, etc.
