Voted Best E-mail by Women readers' @ Vogue magz Nov 08 issue

A man was sick and tired of going to work every day while his wife stayed home.

He wanted her to see what he went through so he prayed:
'Dear Lord:

I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home.

I want her to know what I go through.

So, please allow her body to switch with mine for a day.

Amen!'

God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish.

The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman.

He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate,
Awakened the kids,

Set out their school clothes,

Fed them breakfast,

Packed their lunches,

Drove them to school,

Came home and picked up the dry cleaning,

Took it to the cleaners

And stopped at the bank to make a deposit,

Went grocery shopping,

Then drove home to put away the groceries,

Paid the bills and balanced the check book.

He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog.

Then, it was already 01P.M.

And he hurried to make the beds,
Do the laundry, vacuum,

Dust,

And sweep and mop the kitchen floor.

Ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home.

Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework.

Then, set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing.

At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper.

After supper,

He cleaned the kitchen,

Ran the dishwasher,

Folded laundry,

Bathed the kids,

And put them to bed.

At 09 P.M .

He was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaint.

The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said: -
'Lord, I don't know what I was thinking.

I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day.

Please, oh! Oh! Please, let us trade back.

Amen!'

The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied:

'My son, I feel you have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were.
You'll just have to wait nine months, though.

You got pregnant last night.'

Busy, busy, busy (updated)

Sorry for the lack of update recently. I am super duper busy these few weeks with the new school academic year started.

My Amanda is now in primary Year 1, she looked so cute and 'dai gou lui' in her pinafore. Will upload her photo soon. Here's her photo in primary uniform.

I have been off for few days to accompany her to her new school in SS2, yes, it is SRJK(C) Puay Chai. Do not why this time Amanda got so emo and panic. She burst into tears for the first 2 days in the school. The first day was the orientation day on 31-Dec, when she thought we have left the school and leaving her alone in the hall with a bunch of little strangers. Haha.. Reason being, she saw her dad peeping around by the door and she didn't seem to see me. So, that very first thought came into her mind was... we were leaving.

The second time was on the first day in school which was on 05-Jan. We didn't fetch her to school that very first day, we let her go with the tranporter lady whom we arrange to fetch her to and fro and from school. And I told her that I will go to her school to look for her later. God, who knows, she thought I will be in her school waiting for her to reach school. (blink~blink). So, when she reached the school and couldn't find me, she burst into tears again. Oh gosh, what happened to you my darling. You are always the cheerful type, and you didn't get panic the firtst day to kindie.

Luckily everything goes fine now, and she seems to getting happier each time coming back from school though it's tiring for her.

Will write another post about my Olivia's school venture. Stay tuned...

Not fair, not fair

Overheard that boss is going to give bonus and increment to the junior staff only this year. Medium and higher management will not get anything this year. Bad news for me.

Not fair. Not fair. How could this be?

We have also put in our effort (+ sweat + tears + blood) this whole year long for the company. How can we are not rewarded for the sweat? Don't our effort being appreciated? ::crying face::

Not fair, not fair. We don't mind if it is just a small token, at least to show your appreciation.

We are very cham already this year, new academic year is going to start soon, and Chinese New Year is around the corner. I know, i know it is still another one month ahead. I don't even dare to mention about Christmas, where got enough money to spend for Christmas, already spent hundreds on the kids' uniforms, school bags, shoes, stationery, workbooks. ::sobbing::

Haih... really hope that boss changes his mind -- give bonus (at least) to everyone. Everybody will be happy then. (praying hard now)

Worry To Look Older Than My Age?

I found that recently my skin becomes dry and loses its flexibility, fine lines are visible especially on the forehead area, skin loses its natural glow and looks very dim and dull. I guess this is common among ladies at my age, this is especially true for those who stay up very late at night and staring at computer screen at least 12 hours a day like myself. But for the fear of looking older than my age, I start googling for some beauty maintenance tips. Here's what I got:

It seems that different skin types have their different way to maintain. So, it is obvious that the first thing I need to do is to find out my skin type and its appropriate way to maintain. There are basically 4 types of skin:

1. Moist and oily skin
This skin is basically normal, but it tends to change with environment, climate and diet. For example, hot season will cause excessive sebum and this leads to acne. So the best way to maintain this type of skin is to keep yourself in good condition with healthy diet.

2. Oily and water-lack skin
If your skin tends to get oiler whenever you forget about protection, you shall be more focus on retaining the moisture of your skin. The pores on this type of skin is obvious to be seen, making it to appear constantly oily. So, while you are busy removing the excess oil from your face, do keep in mind to replenish the skin with proper moisturizer. When skin is moistured adequently, less oil will be produced. You can combine the usage of Oil-control + moisturizing products together.

3. Moist, oil-less skin
This skin type will be the perfect skin type if much attention is given to moisture and oil-resistant. Although this skin may be the best, but lack of oil will result to the loss of moisture easily too especially when one is in air-conditioned setting or during cold windy days - skin gets dried up quite easily. Therefore, skin-care products with adequate oil is crucial. In addition, you should also pay more addition to the eyes area to avoid early fine lines as

4. Water-lack, oil-less skin
This skin type is the most fragile type that requires super extra care. This type of skin tends to get dry easily and is prone to fine lines. So, you have to be gentle with your face during the cleansing routine. Try to avoid stimulating the skin too much. Concentrate on supplementing sufficient moisture and adequate oil to this delicate skin type will do good to keeping yourself youthful.

Is Your Body Starving from Vitamins? How much you know about vitamins?

Vitamins (combination of two words: Vital Amines) are the complex organic substance essential in small quantities to the metabolism (nutrition) in most animals. These are found in minute quantities in food, in some cases are produced by the body, and are also produced synthetically. The human body needs them to work properly, so that we can grow and develop just like we should. Their deficiency results in many serious disorders.

Vitamins are divided into two major groups: the ‘fat-soluble vitamins’ designated as vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K, and the ‘water-soluble vitamins’ which include vitamin C and the group of molecules referred to as the vitamin B complex. Each of them has its own special role in the development of human body.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin, plays a really big part in eyesight and helps us to see in dim light and also at night. Vitamin A is also involved in the formation and maintenance of healthy skin, hair, and mucous membranes. In addition, it is necessary for proper bone growth, tooth development, reproduction and for the development of epithelial cells (that line any opening to the body e.g.; nose, throat, lungs, mouth, stomach, intestines and urinary tract).

Vitamin A can be found in eggs, milk, carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, fish oil, liver (pork, lamb, chicken, turkey or beef), butter, broccoli, apricots, nectarines, cantaloupe, and orange or yellow vegetables or fruits.

The deficiency of vitamin A can cause two major disorders like: night blindness and drying of skin.

Vitamin B
Vitamin B itself is a complex of different vitamins like: B1, B2, B6, B12, niacin, folic acid, biotin and pantothenic acid. These B vitamins are very important in metabolic activity and in facilitating the red blood cell (which carry oxygen throughout your body). They also help your body make protein and energy.

The sources of vitamin B are leafy green vegetables seafood, beans, peas, citrus fruits, whole grains (such as wheat and oats), poultry, meats, eggs and dairy products (like milk and yogurt). Some bacteria in our large intestine also prepare some type of B-vitamins.

The deficiency of vitamin B can cause the disease “Beri Beri”, cracked lips, weak muscles, malformation of red blood cells, affects normal growth and disturbs the nervous system.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is a water-soluble, antioxidant vitamin that is vital to the production of collagen, a protein that gives structure to bones, cartilage, muscle, and blood vessels. It is important for keeping body tissues, such as gums and muscles in good shape and it helps in quick healing of wounds. In addition, it helps protecting the fat-soluble vitamins A and E as well as fatty acids from oxidation.

The vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits (like lemon & orange), cantaloupe, strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage and in other fresh fruits and vegetables.

The deficiency of vitamin C affects the healthy skin; poor wound healing and can lead to a disease called “Scurvy” which causes bleeding in gums, easy bruising, bumps of coiled hair on the arms and legs, pain in the joints, muscle wasting, and many other problems.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that regulates the formation of bone and the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestine. It helps to control the movement of calcium between bone and blood, and vice versa. It is this vitamin you need for strong bones and teeth. In addition it helps your body absorb the amount of calcium it needs.

Vitamin D can be found in fish liver oil, egg yolks, milk and other dairy products fortified with vitamin D. It is also produced in our body in the presence of ultra violet light and sunlight.
The deficiency of vitamin D can cause weak bones and bowed legs (in children). And its excess can cause loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, headache, depression and deposits of calcium in the kidneys.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E, a fat-soluble vitamin, is essential for the inhibition of oxidation in body tissues, formation of red blood cells, and also prevents breakdown of body tissues. It maintains the body tissues and protects the lungs from becoming damaged by polluted air.

This vitamin can be found in whole grains (such as wheat and oat), wheat germ, leafy green vegetables, sardines, egg yolks, nuts, bread, cereals and seeds. The deficiency of this vitamin can cause many diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and Alzheimer's disease.
