When you don't have a choice

What would you do when you don't have a choice?

I know better than anyone else, it is not the best option. I can't sacrifice the innocent. But I was left with no choice, what else can I do.

I am not sure whether I will regret it in future, but for the time being, this is the best I can do. Hope everything will be fine.

Have you found yourself in the same situation like mine, left with no choice. Mind to share with me your story?

This is what marriage is really all about . . .

One day we saw an old couple in a fast food restaurant. The old man ordered one hamburger, one French fries and one drink.

He unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it into half. He placed one half in front of his
wife. He then carefully counted out the French fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife.

He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them.

As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them
kept looking over and whispering. You could tell they were thinking, 'That poor old
couple - all they can afford is one meal for the two of them.'

As the man began to eat his fries, hubby went over to their table. He politely offered to
buy another meal for the old couple. The old man said they were just fine - They were
used to sharing everything.

The surrounding people noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink.

Again hubby went over and begged them to let him buy another meal for them. This time the old woman said 'No, thank you, we are used to sharing
everything.'

As the old man finished and was wiping his face neatly with the napkin, hubby again went over to the little old lady who had yet to eat a single bite of the food and asked 'What is it you're waiting for?'

She answered . . . . . .

Busy, busy, busy (updated)

Sorry for the lack of update recently. I am super duper busy these few weeks with the new school academic year started.

My Amanda is now in primary Year 1, she looked so cute and 'dai gou lui' in her pinafore. Will upload her photo soon. Here's her photo in primary uniform.

I have been off for few days to accompany her to her new school in SS2, yes, it is SRJK(C) Puay Chai. Do not why this time Amanda got so emo and panic. She burst into tears for the first 2 days in the school. The first day was the orientation day on 31-Dec, when she thought we have left the school and leaving her alone in the hall with a bunch of little strangers. Haha.. Reason being, she saw her dad peeping around by the door and she didn't seem to see me. So, that very first thought came into her mind was... we were leaving.

The second time was on the first day in school which was on 05-Jan. We didn't fetch her to school that very first day, we let her go with the tranporter lady whom we arrange to fetch her to and fro and from school. And I told her that I will go to her school to look for her later. God, who knows, she thought I will be in her school waiting for her to reach school. (blink~blink). So, when she reached the school and couldn't find me, she burst into tears again. Oh gosh, what happened to you my darling. You are always the cheerful type, and you didn't get panic the firtst day to kindie.

Luckily everything goes fine now, and she seems to getting happier each time coming back from school though it's tiring for her.

Will write another post about my Olivia's school venture. Stay tuned...

Not fair, not fair

Overheard that boss is going to give bonus and increment to the junior staff only this year. Medium and higher management will not get anything this year. Bad news for me.

Not fair. Not fair. How could this be?

We have also put in our effort (+ sweat + tears + blood) this whole year long for the company. How can we are not rewarded for the sweat? Don't our effort being appreciated? ::crying face::

Not fair, not fair. We don't mind if it is just a small token, at least to show your appreciation.

We are very cham already this year, new academic year is going to start soon, and Chinese New Year is around the corner. I know, i know it is still another one month ahead. I don't even dare to mention about Christmas, where got enough money to spend for Christmas, already spent hundreds on the kids' uniforms, school bags, shoes, stationery, workbooks. ::sobbing::

Haih... really hope that boss changes his mind -- give bonus (at least) to everyone. Everybody will be happy then. (praying hard now)

Nausea - the aftermath of coffee resumed

Did I tell you lately that I have consumed back the long-stop coffee drinking habit? It has been few months already I didn't take my usual morning / evening coffee. I used to have at least one cup of coffee, but sometimes, I get myself 2 - one in the morning, one during tea-time, around 4pm.

I began to abstain myself from taking coffee when my eczema condition exaggerates. It took months for me to heal the broken skin and the much hated itchiness. When my condition got better, my addiction to coffee came back. Natural human behavior I guess, when you don't have any health issue that bothers you, your bad habit starts to kick in naturally. Hahaha...

But weird enough that when i consumed back coffee, this "long-lost" drink kinda gives me some strange side effect - nausea. Sometimes it comes with bloated stomach too. The feeling is like morning sickness in the beginning stage of pregnancy. What a big joke, I even worry myself of getting pregnant (so coincident that my menses was late), and it is not just one time, but two times - in the month of October and November. Don't you think it is damn humorous.

Have anyone out there experiencing the same side-effect like me having nausea and bloating stomach after drinking coffee? Mind to share your story?

Touching Moments

Standing by the front window waiting for her overdue husband to return from work, she remarked to me, "I think he must be having an affair."

I replied, "You always think the worst. He's probably just had an accident."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A friend and his wife were considering visiting Alaska, a trip the husband had long dreamed of taking. He kept talking about how great it would be to stay in a log cabin without electricity and drive a dog team instead of a car.
"If we decided to live permanently away from civilization, what would you miss the most?" he asked his wife. "You," she said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While I was shopping with a friend, she announced that she had found the perfect gift for her husband in the soft furnishing department. I saw that it was a cushion with a message embroidered on it that read: "I sometimes wake up grumpy in the morning. Other times I just let him lie."

Breaktime: London Times Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense

Interesting and sadly very true.

'Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, I Want It Now, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
