Dear Mommy,

I am in Heaven now, sitting on Jesus' lap.
He loves me and cries with me; for my heart has been broken.
I so wanted to be your little girl. I don't quite understand what has happened.
I was so excited when I began realizing my existence.
I was in a dark, yet comfortable place. I saw I had fingers and toes.
I was pretty far along in my developing, yet not near ready to leave my surroundings.
I spent most of my time thinking or sleeping.
Even from my earliest days, I felt a special bonding between you and me.
Sometimes I heard you crying and I cried with you. Sometimes you would yell or scream, then cry.
I heard Daddy yelling back.
I was sad, and hoped you would be better soon.......
I wondered why you cried so much. One day you cried almost all of the day.
I hurt for you. I couldn't imagine why you were so unhappy.
That same day, the most horrible thing happened.
A very mean monster came into that warm, comfortable place I was in.
I was so scared, I began screaming, but you never once tried to help me.
Maybe you never heard me.
The monster got closer and closer as I was screaming and screaming,
"Mommy, Mommy, help me please; Mommy, help me."
Complete terror is all I felt.
I screamed and screamed until I thought I couldn't anymore.
Then the monster started ripping my arms off.
It hurt so bad; the pain I can never explain.
It didn't stop. Oh, how I begged it to stop.
I screamed in horror as it ripped my leg off.
Though I was in such complete pain, I was dying.
I knew I would never see your face or hear you say how much you love me.
I wanted to make all your tears go away.
I had so many plans to make you happy.
Now I couldn't; all my dreams were shattered.
Though I was in utter pain and horror, I felt the pain of my heart breaking, above all.
I wanted more than anything to be your daughter.
No use now, for I was dying a painful death.
I could only imagine the terrible things that they had done to you.
I wanted to tell you that I love you before I was gone, but I didn't know the words you could understand.
And soon, I no longer had the breath to say them; I was dead.
I felt myself rising. I was being carried by a huge angel into a big beautiful place.
I was still crying, but the physical pain was gone.
The angel took me to Jesus and set me on His lap.
He said He loved me, and He was my Father. Then I was happy. I asked Him what the thing was that killed me. He answered, "Abortion.
I am sorry, my child; for I know how it feels......."
I don't know what abortion is;
I guess that's the name of the monster.

I'm writing to say that I love you and to tell you how much I wanted to be your little girl.
I tried very hard to live.
I wanted to live. I had the will, but I couldn't; the monster was too powerful.
It sucked my arms and legs off and finally got all of me. It was impossible to live.
I just wanted you to know I tried to stay with you.
I didn't want to die.

Also, Mommy, please watch out for that abortion monster.
Mommy, I love you and I would hate for you to go through the kind of pain I did.

星雲大師有一位徒弟,台大畢業後,到夏威夷讀碩士,
又到耶魯讀博士,花了好多年的時間,終於得到博士学位,
非常歡喜。


有一天他回來,對星雲說:
「師父,我現在得到博士學位了,以後要再學習什麼呢?」
星雲說:「學習做人。」
學習做人是一輩子的事,沒有辦法畢業的。


星雲覺得人生,不管是士農工商、各種人等,
只要學習就有進步,今天要跟大家分享需要學習的事:


第一、「學習認錯」。
人常常不肯認錯,凡事都說是別人的錯,
認為自己才是對的,其實不認錯就是一個錯。
認錯的對象可以是父母、朋友、社會大眾、佛祖,
甚至向兒女或是對我不好的人認錯,
自己不但不會少了什麼,反而顯得你有度量。
學習認錯是美好的,是一個大修行。


第二、「學習柔和」。
人的牙齒是硬的,舌頭是軟的,到了人生的最後,
牙齒都掉光了,舌頭卻不會掉,所以要柔軟,
人生才能長久,硬反而吃虧。
心地柔軟了,是修行最大的進步。
一般形容執著的人說,你的心、你的性格很冷、很硬,
像鋼鐵一樣。
如果我們像禪門說的調息、調身、調心,
慢慢調伏像野馬、像猴子的這顆心,令它变軟,
人生才能活得更快樂、更長久。


第三、「學習忍」。
這世間就是忍一口氣,風平浪靜,退一步海闊天空;
忍,萬事都能消除。忍就是會處理、 會化解,
用智慧、能力讓大事化小、小事化無。
各位要生活、要生存、要生命,有了忍,
可以認清世間的好壞、善惡、是非,甚至接受它。


第四、「學習溝通」。
缺乏溝通,就會產生是非、爭執與誤會。
現在中國大陸、香港和台灣,
兩岸三地最重要的就是溝通,
相互了解、相互體諒、相互幫助,
大家都是龍兄虎弟,互相爭執、不溝通怎麼能和平呢?


第五、「學習放下」。
人生像一只皮箱,需要用的時候提起,
不用的時就把它放下,應放下的時候,卻不放下,
就像拖著沉重的行李,無法自在。
人生的歲月有限,認錯、尊重、包容才能讓人接受,
放下才自在啊!


第六、「學習感動」。
我們看到人家得好處,要歡喜;
看到好人好事,要能感動。
感動是一個愛心、菩薩心、菩提心,
在我幾十年的歲月裡,有許多事情、語言感動了我,
所以我也很努力的想辦法讓別人感動。


第七、「學習生存」。
為了生存,我要維護身體健康,
身體健康不但對自己有利,也讓朋友、家人放心,
所以也是孝親的行為。


生命中有千萬人經過身邊~ 只有幾個人能介入心底~
失去一個人很容易~要得到真心的人卻很難~
珍惜身邊的人~ 用心去體會~ 真誠去傾聽~
幸福就在你身邊~

Seorang guru, Cikgu Murni (Umur: 22) menghadapi masalah dengan salah seorang muridnya (Abu). Lalu guru ini bertanya kepada murid tersebut : "Apa sebenarnya masalah awak, Abu?"

Lalu Abu menjawab, "Saya terlalu cerdik untuk berada di darjah 4, kakak saya menduduki UPSR dan saya lebih cerdik dari dia, maka saya seharusnya berada di tempat yang sama juga!".

Cikgu Murni dah tak tertahan. Dia bawa Abu ke pejabat pengetua. Sementara Abu menunggu di ruang tamu, Cikgu Murni terangkan keadaan tersebut kepada pengetua. Pengetua mengatakan yang dia akan berikan ujian kepada Abu dan jika Abu gagal menjawab, maka Abu harus kekal di darjah 3 dan berkelakuan baik. Abu dibawa masuk ke pejabat Pengetua dan Cikgu Murni terangkan pada Abu dan Abu bersetuju untuk ambil ujian yang akan diberikan.

Pengetua: Apa 3 x 3?
Abu: 9

Pengetua: Apa 6 x 6?
Abu: 36

Pengetua terus bertanyakan soalan2 berdasarkan tahap pencapaian murid2 UPSR dan si Abu mampu menjawab tiap soalan yang diberikan. Lalu pengetua memandang Cikgu Murni dan berkata, "Saya rasa murid ini sepatutnya berada di darjah 6", Lalu Cikgu Murni berkata pada pengetua, "Saya ada soalan saya sendiri, boleh tak saya ajukan pada Abu?". Pengetua dan Abu bersetuju.

Cikgu Murni: Apa yang lembu ada 4 di badan, tapi saya cuma ada dua?
Abu: (berfikir) Kaki

Cikgu Murni: Apa yang ada di dalam seluar kamu tapi tidak pada seluar saya?
Abu: Saku

Cikgu Murni: Apa yang bermula dengan huruf "K" akhir dengan "A", ianya berbulu, berbentuk oval, nyaman dan mengandungi lapisan nipis keputihan?
Abu: Kelapa

Cikgu Murni: Apakah yang masuk keras dan berwarna "pink", bila keluar lembik dan melekit?

Mata Pengetua terbuka luas dan sebelum sempat dia menahan, siAbu terus menjawab.

Abu: Gula-gula getah (Bubblegum)

Cikgu Murni: Apa yang mereka lakukan, lelaki secara berdiri, wanita secara duduk dan anjing secara tiga kaki?

Mata Pengetua sekali lagi terbuka sangat2 luas dan sebelum dia sempat hendak menahan si Abu terus menjawab.

Abu: Bersalaman

Cikgu Murni: Baik, sekarang saya akan ajukan soalan berbentuk siapakah saya, okay?
Abu: Baik Cikgu

Cikgu Murni: Awak memasukkan batang kedalam saya. Awak ikat saya untuk saya berdiri. Saya kebasahan sebelum awak.

Pengetua kelihatan resah dengan soalan yang diajukan oleh Cikgu Murni.

Abu: Khemah

Cikgu Murni: Jari memasuki saya. Awak menggesel-gesel saya bila awak teringatkan saya. Lelaki idaman akan mendapat saya dahulu.

Pengetua semakin resah dan tidak selesa. Lantas terus meneguk segelas Nescafe 3in1.

Abu: Cincin perkahwinan

Cikgu Murni: Saya ada bermacam-macam saiz. Bila saya sakit saya akan meleleh. Bila saya keluar, banyak tisu yang akan digunakan. Bila awak hembuskan saya, akan berasa lega.

Sekali lagi pengetua rasa amat resah dengan soalan yang di ajukan oleh Cikgu Murni dan ingin membantah, tapi si Abu mendahuluinya.

Abu: Hidung

Cikgu Murni: Saya batang yang keras. Hujungnya tajam. Saya akan datang dan masuk dengan lajunya.
Abu: Anak panah

Cikgu Murni: Sekarang saya akan ajukan soalan dalam Bahasa Inggeris, okay?
Abu: Okay

Cikgu Murni: What word starts with a 'F' and end in 'K' that means lot of heat and excitement?

Understand The REAL Deal About Egg Yolks

The truth about egg yolks...

I was on a weekend trip with some friends recently and one of my friends was cooking breakfast for the whole group. I went over to see what he was cooking and saw he was getting ready to make a big batch of eggs.

Well, to my shock and horror, I noticed that he was cracking the eggs open and screening the egg whites into a bowl and throwing out the egg yolks. I asked him why the heck he was throwing out the egg yolks, and he replied...

'because I thought the egg yolks were terrible for you...that's where all the nasty fat and cholesterol is'.

And I replied, 'you mean that's where all the nutrition is!'

This is a perfect example of how confused most people are about nutrition. In a world full of misinformation, somehow most people now mistakenly think that the egg yolk is the worst part of the egg, when in fact, the YOLK IS THE HEALTHIEST PART OF THE EGG!

By throwing out the yolk and only eating egg whites, you're essentially throwing out the most nutrient dense, antioxidant-rich, vitamin and mineral loaded portion of the egg. The yolks contain so many B-vitamins, trace minerals, vitamin A, folate, choline, lutein, and other powerful nutrients... it's not even worth trying to list them all.

In fact, the egg whites are almost devoid of nutrition compared to the yolk.

Even the protein in egg whites isn't as powerful without the yolks to balance out the amino acid profile and make the protein more bio-available. Not to even mention that the egg yolks from free range chickens are loaded with omega-3 fatty acids.

Yolks contain more than 90% of the calcium, iron, phosphorus, zinc, thiamin, B6, folate, and B12, and panthothenic acid of the egg. In addition, the yolks contain all of the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K in the egg, as well as all of the essential fatty acids.

And now the common objection I get all the time when I say that the yolks are the most nutritious part of the egg...

'But I heard that whole eggs will skyrocket my cholesterol through the roof'

No, this is FALSE!

First of all, when you eat a food that contains a high amount of dietary cholesterol such as eggs, your body down-regulates it's internal production of cholesterol to balance things out.

On the other hand, if you don't eat enough cholesterol, your body simply produces more since cholesterol has tons of important functions in the body.

And here's where it gets even more interesting...

There are indications that eating whole eggs actually raises your good HDL cholesterol to a higher degree than LDL cholesterol, thereby improving your overall cholesterol ratio and blood chemistry.

And 3rd... high cholesterol is NOT a disease! Heart disease is a disease...but high cholesterol is NOT.

So I hope we've established that whole eggs are not some evil food that will wreck your body... instead whole eggs are FAR superior to egg whites.

Also, your normal supermarket eggs coming from mass factory farming just don't compare nutritionally with organic free range eggs from healthy chickens that are allowed to roam freely and eat a more natural diet.

I recently compared eggs I bought at the grocery store with a batch of eggs I got at a farm stand where the chickens were free roaming and healthy.

Most people don't realize that there's a major difference because they've never bought real eggs from healthy chickens... The eggs from the grocery store had pale yellow yolks. On the other hand, the healthier free range eggs had deep orange colored yolks indicating much higher nutrition levels and carotenoids.

So next time a health or fitness professional tells you that egg whites are superior, you can quietly ignore their advice knowing that you understand the REAL deal about egg yolks.

One more thing about eggs...

I read a study recently that compared groups of people that ate egg breakfasts vs groups of people that ate cereal or bagel based breakfasts. The results of the study showed that the egg eaters lost or maintained a healthier bodyweight, while the cereal/bagel eaters gained weight.

It was hypothesized that the egg eaters actually ate less calories during the remainder of the day because their appetite was more satisfied compared to the cereal/bagel eaters who would have been more prone to wild blood sugar swings and food cravings.

How Exercise Affects Your Body Temperature Rhythm

The fastest way to increase the quality of sleep is to get into a exercise regimen, if you already do not do so. Exercise helps the quality of sleep in numerous ways, not to mention the other health benefits it has on your body.

* Exercise will raise your body temperature rhythm, and make your body temperature “peak” at a higher level. This will increase your energy levels throughout the day, you'll feel more awake, alive, and motivated.
* As your body temperature levels will max out at a higher level, your body temperature will also drop more easily and deeper. This will allow you to sleep deeply, without interruptions.
* Regular exercise will prevent your body temperature rhythm from “flat-lining”, which will allow you to sleep deeply even if you've had a stressful day, or couldn't exercise on one particular day.
* Exercise delays the body temperature “drop” in the evening, allowing you to stay awake and alert longer without feeling tired and drowsy.
* Exercise is also a great relief of tension and stress, which as you'll later find out, is a major cause of sleeping disorders.

If exercise not already a part of your daily regimen, it’s not too late to start now. The best time to exercise is in the morning, as this will promote a quick temperature rise. However, avoid exercise 3 hours prior to going to sleep, as your body temperature will probably still be on the rise, and you may find falling asleep / sleeping deeply more difficult.

If you don't exercise, I'm not suggesting you get up off your butt right now, get a membership at your local gym and begin a full scale work out program. You can do that only if you really want to. However, recent study shows that just moderate exercise during the day has many health benefits. If you can't motivate yourself to start exercising regularly, you could find a less intensive physical activity that you still enjoy, like walking briskly, biking, rollerblading, these will still have a substantial effect at raising your body temperature.

My final point about this would be: What's the Point of Trying to Rejuvenate your Body, and Increasing the Quality of Your Sleep, if You're Not Going to USE YOUR BODY?

Keep Walking...

The organs of your body have their sensory touches at the bottom of your foot, if you massage these points you will find relief from aches and pains as you can see the organs are on the right and left foot, the heart is on the left foot.


This time, it put organs on the feet as they are. Typically they are shown as points and arrows to show which organ it connects to.

It is indeed correct since the nerves connected to these organs terminate here.

God created our body so well that He thought of even this. He made us walk so that we will always be pressing these pressure points and thus keeping these organs activated at all times.

So, keep walking...

A Little More About Grapefuit

Do you like grapefruit?

The interaction between grapefruit juice and some medications can cause negative effects, especially on kidney level, and sometimes it can be fatal. A woman that uses birth control pills and then suddenly drinks too much grapefruit juice can get pregnant because this juice makes the effects of the pills disappear.

Grapefruit juice is not indicated to drink while taking anti-depressing medication, antibiotics and medicine for cardio-vascular diseases. A person that takes anti-depressives and adds to that grapefruit in huge quantities can feel that he has all of a sudden too much or too little energy, depending on the pills taken. Combining it with antibiotic can cause stomach sickness or can extend the illness you are taking medication for because the antibiotics will diminuate their effect. Heart drugs don’t work anymore, the blood pressure stays up and the heart beat irregularly. For those that love grapefruit juice, witch is more concentrated than the fruit itself, a recommendation would be to restrain from drinking it while they are taking medication.

Doctors try to raise attention upon avoiding and combating the combination of grapefruit with medicine especially because in some diets grapefruit juice is recommended in huge quantities.

Grapefruit is benefic to organism if used properly. It belongs to that class of aliments that burn calories, because it takes more calories to digest them than they have. Eating the fruit is not a problem, nor is drinking a glass of juice once in a while. The problem appears where human reasoning disappears. Wanting to loose more weight faster, people weaken their bodies and eat only grapefruits. It is efficient for a diet, but it also loosens the imunitary system. They become more vulnerable, more tired and nervous and if taking any medications they are risking their health in this combination.

So use this aliment wisely, go ask a specialist of its precise effects in your case and don’t abuse drinking grapefruit juice. Abusing something has never brought anything good, and it won’t in this case either. If you want to go on with your diet and keep your health find an alternative solution or make sure this does not affect your organism.

Afraid of Heights ??

Being afraid of height (whether during a plane trip or escalating a mountain) is a serious problem that affects many persons and can be severe if not fatal repercussions on the respective person. This sickness is provoked by the lack of oxygen.

The easiest manifestation of height sickness can appear at altitudes of 2000 meters and it will manifest itself through headaches, dizziness, and incapability of movement. These symptoms will disappear in a few days if you continue staying at that height.

The most severe sensations of height sickness appear at extremely high altitudes usually over 3000 meters in altitude. Next to the symptoms already mentioned, others can appear like: loosing appetite, sleep disorders and waking up frequently in the middle of the night. The difficulty that can be encountered when breathing, stomach sickness, temporary losses of memory, encountering difficulty when trying to concentrate are amongst the most common and severe symptoms that solicit an immediate change of altitude.


Who are the ones most likely to be afraid of heights?

There is no way to predict who is going to be height sick. Surprisingly, older people, people with low physical activity and poor health are not more affected by the height sickness than other persons. This also means that if you never encountered this problem until now you can’t be sure that you won’t feel sick the next time you take a trip by plane or climb a mountain.


How can this be avoided?

The best solution to avoid this sensation in the mountains is to climb slowly until you get to the destination, and to climb in such a way that the whole process is going to take at least a few days. In case of a plane flight, get advice from physician about the medication that you can take to stop the alternative of being plane sick. It is extremely important to drink as much water as you can possibly drink to avoid dehydration, a factor that can make the sensation of sick worsen. A huge quantity of water is lost when you are at low temperatures.

Torchlight or Zapper ?

I received an email yesterday warning me to beware of high voltage torchlight. I was puzzled as what other deadly harm can a torchlight do besides to knock on the head. I was totally wrong, and you may be wrong too. It is not a ordinary torchlight, it is a high voltage weapon that is strong enough to kill a person by electrocution.

This happened recently in Malaysia 's Petaling Jaya.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE, YOU MUST GIVE YOURSELF AT LEAST 3 MINUTES TO READ THIS .

I just thought to let know what my doctor told me recently. I don't think she was lying and neither am I, so please pass this on to your friends. Her clinic is in SS2 (Petaling Jaya in Malaysia ) and you know how congested that place is.

One morning a few months ago in broad daylight, a girl was getting into her car when a few men approached her with what looked like a torchlight. Quite harmless looking. They pressed the "torchlight" into her back and immediately she went limp and very pale. So she wouldn't be able to fight back, they slashed her thigh with a parang and sped away in her car.

There were many people around and they quickly took her to the nearest clinic which was my doctor's clinic. There were two doctors at that time and they managed to stitch up her wound but the girl remained pulse-less and still pale as paper. No pulse, no BP (blood pressure). Just like dead.

My doctors were confused as to how one wound on the thigh made the girl almost like dead? They managed to revive her and save her life.

After some checking around, the doctors found out what actually happened was that the girl was made unconscious not by a torchlight but actually a high voltage weapon. I forgot how many watts she mentioned. 1000? Anyway, it was high enough to kill a person by electrocution.

It seems this weapon is from China . It's not rampant yet in Malaysia , but with this thing, a person can rob, rape, kill, kidnap, and practically do anything to you. My doctor said that if the girl weren't taken to the clinic immediately she would have died because there was no pulse on her.

So please just beware of your surroundings, if anybody is lurking around with a torchlight-thingy and approaches you, just scream or run away. Better to be embarrassed than ZAPPED and fried, right?

How much protein should one eat?

Since I'm still on my low-carb diet, it also means that I'm on a high-protein diet. I wonder how much protein does one need? Am I taking too much of the protein? Will it harm my body if I were to prolong the low-carb, high-protein diet?

Lets find out the fact as how much protein should one eat.

The perfect diet, which can provide the right kind of nutrition, is composed of a diet with right combination of carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, and vitamins. Among all these components protein has a different and very essential role to play to keep the body in shape and make it strong. The main function of protein is reviving the dead tissues and enabling the growth of cells.

Another essential function performed by proteins in body is making of hormones in the body and other serums required by the body. Proteins from plants are as nutritious as animal proteins. The total calorie intake should comprise of 20 percent of it. Proteins are made of essential and non-essential amino acids.

A normal diet should contain 15-20% of protein. The intake of protein shouldn’t be more than 20% as suggested by the new researches. Protein contributes 4 calories of every gram consumed by the body. The right combination of essential amino acids as per the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) 1989 is: Isoleucine (10 mg), Lysine (12mg), Leucine (14 mg), Phenylalanine (14 mg), Methionine (13 mg), Threonine (7mg), Valine (10 mg) and Tryptophan (3.5 mg). These are those amino acids, which the body needs but cannot make them and are thus only made available to the body from food intakes comprising of these amino acids. And the protein needed by an infant is Histidine (28 mg). These amounts of proteins are taken in accordance with the body weight, per kilogram of it per day, by the body.

Requirement of protein depends on different factors like weight of the body, sex, age and the physical condition of the body. A normal human need for protein varies from that of the needs of an athlete or a body builder, or a person who is sick and lacks essentials required for a fit body. This will definitely improve my overall complexion as well. The major sources for fiber come mostly from leafy vegetables, fruits, wheat and oatmeal. It seems that my choice of breakfast - oatmeal, is my best source of fiber and energy for a day!

Beijing Hawker Food --- Do You Dare To Try?

Olympics Game is around the corner, for this time round, it will be held in China - Beijing.

When you are in Beijing, you must try their hawker food. This is the busiest street in Beijing that operates at night. Surprisingly, the stalls close at 10pm, it is pretty early. All the lights will be switched off by 10pm, I suppose these lights are supplied by the government. The place is rather clean and they have many dustbins placed along the street. The vendors are all wearing standard uniform.

The foods are rather expensive here, each stick will cost you at least RMB10. This place has been shown before on Discovery travel channel. I bet you try the foods once, you will say, 'OK, that's it'.

The food items sold here are very innovative, which you can't find somewhere else. Folks, here's some snapshots of the food items, some might them yummy and some might say 'yuck!'

Eczema Care: Dermaveen

I remember sometimes ago, when I were visiting my doctor again for my itching legs which made me awake all night long, he advised me to apply lotion every time after shower, which I hate to. I don't like the greasy feel of lotion / moisturizer on my legs nor my body. I hate the feeling of getting the legs or hands wet after applying those lotion. I just don't like it.

So, the doctor recommended another brand of lotion named 'Dermaveen' to me. Improve Skin ------ Kick The Caffein Habit

I started to get addicted to coffee recently, ever since I started my low-carb diet about a month ago. I usually have a cup of 2 in 1 coffee non-sweetened in the evening around 4pm. Oatmeal that Comes with SELENIUM?

I used to have oatmeal every morning. But these two days, I have to change to MILO or NESCAFE, as my oatmeal has finished without me knowing it.

Leaving without much of choices (Milo / Nescafe), so I decided to shop for my favorite oatmeal during lunch time. I notices NATURE'S OWN (TM) now has a new packaging for its instant oatmeal. They changed the packing color from green to red. When observed closely, the red one is actually different, it's the NO SUGAR version of the green packing.

I used to buy the LOW SUGAR version which is the green packing, this time, I was thinking why not give the RED a try -- NO SUGAR, it may accelerate my diet progress! So, without much of a second thought, I grabbed the RED packet that comes with 15 sachets.

When I reached office thinking to have a cup of my favorite beverage (as I have skipped lunch), I found that this version of oatmeal comes with high SELENIUM.

SELENIUM? What is selenium? What's the use of SELENIUM in my oatmeal? How is the taste? Does it affect the aroma in my favorite oatmeal? These are the questions that first popped into my mind. How to Care for Your Prescription Spectacles

Cleaning your spectacles

Your prescription spectacles should be cleaned regularly to retain their clarity and to help prevent the lens scratching. Besides that, it is also not a good impression if others can see that they are dirty.

1. To clean your glasses off any fingerprints and smudges, wipe the lenses with soft lint-free cloth, best to use microfibre lens cloth.

2. To remove dirt or grit, rinse your glasses under the running cool tap water and pat dry lightly with a tissue to remove excess water. Then polish the lens with a microfibre cloth.

3. If your lenses are particularly dirty, clean your lenses with a lens spray, followed by a polish using your lens cloth.

4. Always use a microfibre cloth on your glasses as they are very effective and gentle on your lenses. Wash your lens cloth regularly in a cold machine wash, don't use fabric softener as this will leave residue on your lenses.


Improper Cleaning Hurts Your Lenses

1. Improper cleaning can lead to scrathes which reduce the clarity of your lenses that cannot be removed.

2. Tissue can scratch a dry lens as they leave rather coarse particles on the surface, so use tissue on a wet lens only. Bear in mind not to use perfumed tissue as well (such as eucalyptus) as this perfumed tissue contain oils which can cause smudging.

3. Using a cloth or your shirt that may have embedded dirt will cause smudging and scratches as well. So, it is always best to steer clear of these too.

4. Always avoid wiping or rubbing dry your lenses, as this is often how they get scratched. Patting dry will give you the best results.

5. Coating don't like heat. So make sure the water isn't too warm when rinsing your glasses under water or you could possibly damage the coating on your lens.


How To Protect Your Spectacles

1. To avoid misalignment of your frames, always use both hands when taking off your glasses. Using only one hand, you will put your frames under stress and they may distort.

2. To prevent accidental scratching, it's always a best practice to keep your glasses in their case when you are not using or as soon as you take them off. If for some reason, you don't have the case with you and you need to put your glasses down, always make sure that the lenses are not touching anything. Never ever lay your spectacles face down -- this will scratch the centre of the lens. Also, never put them in your pocket of bag without proper protection!

3. Other tips that you may not be aware of. Always be careful when using hair sprays, perfume or any other personal care products as these can damage the lens coating and reduce your vision.

4. Perspiration and exposure to sea air can also damage the lens coating, so make sure your clean your glasses regularly.

5. Lastly and the most common, never store your glasses in your car as excessive heat can distort your glasses. Don't keep your glasses on the dashboard of your car either!

My First Color Contact Lens - Blue

We were doing some grocery shopping last weekend @ Selayang Mall. When we were about to leave the place, we passed by a spectacles outlet.

Unexpectedly, my hubby went in and asked info on color contact lens. He is always fancy about color contact lens, he has been imagining how I look in blue contact lens. So, this time, he grabbed the best opportunity to inquire more info of color contact lens.

There are two type of color contact lens - monthly disposable and daily disposable. All the color contact lens do not come with astigmatism prescription. Hence for someone who is having astigmatism like myself, it is not advisable to wear color contact lens for long term basis. As I am just thinking of wearing it occasionally when attending event or function, trying to be different. So, I am alright with this imperfection in color contact lens. So, they will prescribe a slightly higher short-sightness power to cover the astigmatism.

I prefer to have the daily disposable as I only wear it occasionally as and when there is an event or function that requires proper dress up. So, the monthly disposable type will be a waste in this case. They charge RM60 for 1 box that consists of 5 pairs. If I were to buy 2 boxes at once, I can get RM49 for 1 box, plus getting a free trial pack -- non-color contact lens. This seems to be a good deal. However, since I have never wore any contact lens before and the concern of whether blue color suits me arised, we decided to buy 1 box first to try out. After much of the negotiation, we managed to get 1 box at the price of RM49... yahoo! what a victory !

The prescribed color contact lens requires at least 3 days to be ready, so I will have to wait till this weekend to collect my much awaited color contact lens. Mine is blue in color! I wonder how I look in blue color contact lens. Very excited to know and see the reaction of people around me. Ha..Ha..
