My Company's Cost Saving Measures

Background:
In my current company, we, the employees are broken into 2 groups - Group A and Group B. This is to separate the staff into different lunch break sessions and different working Saturday in order to ensure that the office is open through lunch hour and on every Saturday.

In view of the current price hike in petrol and utilities, the Company is about to implement the following measures as part of cost savings with effect from 01 July 2008:

1) Lunch

It will be fixed from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm. All Departments MUST off all the lights during this period. Staffs are not allowed to eat at their work station but in the pantry. Customer Service, Credit Control, LTR, TSC, Store and Paging Centre will remained open during lunch hour.
(We used to have 2 lunch break sessions: 12pm to 1pm & 1pm to 2pm for Group A and Group B)

2) Air Conditions

Please follow the time to switch on and off the air-cond

Morning: On at 8.45 am; Off at 12.00 noon
Lunch: On at 1.30 pm
Evening: Off at 5.45 pm

This does not apply to Ground Floor (Reception Area) and Paging Centre.

3) Working Days

The official working days will be revised to:

Mondays to Fridays: 9.00 am - 6.00 pm
1st Saturday of each month: 9.00 am - 1.00 pm

Leave taken on a Saturday shall be treated as one working day.
(We used to have 2 groups, Group A and Group B, and each group has to work on every alternate Saturday)

4) After Work / At any time

Please ensure all computers or printers or plug points are turned off at the end of the day and do not leave lights on in the toilet or any unoccupied room.

With these measures in hand, I hope we (the company and the employees) can go through this tough time together.
